Ceramic Houses
These ceramic houses are made by extruding, shaping, carving and imprinting the clay to reflect mini houses. These are inspired by the Miners' Cottages in the South West Coast of Scotland where my family are from.
Slip Cast Houses
Ceramic Houses; made using the Slip Casting method, creating my own mold and using this as the basis to create various sized pieces. I often use these as the basis of testing new glaze recipes, or firing techniques.
Sculpture Ceramics
Starting with slip casting houses, the clay is overfired, unrefined and shaped to create sculpture pieces. Often the shape of houses are just visible though the mis-shapen pieces.
Lino Print
With a background in Architecture, I create Lino Cuts from places I have visited, focusing on Architectural/ structural views.
Daily Sketches
Joining the 100 day project, I created sketches of my day. These pieces, the size of a playing card, show views/ memories of each day. This has expanded to include still life images from various sources and chesses, for my sister's local shop.
